Thushara Sabreen is an award-winning London based fashion technology entrepreneur, innovation consultant, and alumna from London College of Fashion (MA Fashion Entrepreneurship and Innovation - Distinction). She is the founding director of Tinker Design, a wearable technology company addressing wellness and comfort in fashion; part of the Accelerator at Cambridge University Judge Business School. Experienced fashion professional with 10 plus years in the fashion industry working across Europe, Asia and America, Thushara is a member on the e-textile steering board, Fashion Clinic board (LCF). She continues to explore and research the realm of fashion technology and new business models. Her interests lie in the intersections of artisan craftsmanship, sustainability, technology, IoT and wearable technology for fashion.
Thushara's background in Product Development and career training was gained working with brands like The Limited – Victoria’s Secret (US), ethical manufacturers: Brandix (Sri Lanka) to working with one of the largest retail suppliers -Li & Fung (UK). Working internationally offered extensive understanding and insights into diverse multicultural environments and markets gaining skills and experience in business development, project management, off-shore sampling procedures, factory sourcing, garment and fabric technology, and critical path management. Her experience in wearable technology, fashion, retail, product development and understanding of different market needs offers a unique set of skills. Thushara thrives on a cross-disciplinary approach to innovative, sustainable strategies for business development.
