For over 17 years Louis D’Arienzo has had the pleasure and honour of designing footwear for global luxury fashion brands from Gucci and Jimmy Choo to Berluti and Ermenegildo Zegna. In 2007, he broadened his creative experience for three years as an aircraft interior designer for private clients at a leading London transport design studio. Having been part of these visionary design and marketing teams influenced Louis to be a better and more conscientious designer with a well honed understanding of what inspires and drives customer choice. His keen interest and knowledge of product development and the construction of footwear has informed him well on how to optimise industrialisation and production. This first hand experience has revealed areas where we can improve our design practice with the planet and our future in mind. This year Louis launched his namesake collection of quality unisex sneakers made in Portugal using sustainable materials with a factory pursuing the HIGG index by The Sustainable Apparel Coalition.
